Abul Osman is a Rohingya poet, writer, Humanitarian  worker and the author of two poetry books Hope: Voice Beyond Pessimism and Longing:  A Voice of LossHe is also the Management Coordinator of Rohingya Advancement Committee (RAC), a non-profit organization dedicated  to uplifting and rebuilding the Rohingya community. He is originally from MaungDaw township in Arakan State, Myanmar.

Abul is currently surviving in the world’s largest refugee resettlement in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. In 2017, he was forced to flee his motherland due to extreme acts of war violence committed by the Myanmar military.

Through his poetry, he raises his voice, delivers a message and fights for justice, freedom, and his human rights which have been long denied. He dreams of being a hope for his hopeless community.

He wants the world to be fair to his people, the Rohingya.  He longs for a world where he is seen, heard and given the opportunity to thrive. While the world is unfair to him, he remains committed to his fight against unfairness, struggling  for a world where he can enjoy human rights like everyone across the globe.

“As a  Rohingya poet and writer, living as the most marginalized, persecuted and oppressed people on the earth, my message to the world is that my story matters, my voices matter and we, as the Rohingya matter too.”

“I write to express the truth

of who I’m, where I belong,

and where I come from”.
