Pramudith D. Rupasinghe is a Sri Lankan writer and humanitarian whose literary works transcend geographical boundaries, earning him the moniker ‘Writer Without Borders’. As Director at Rasa Books, he brings an exceptionally rare blend of editorial vision, literary prowess, and developmental experience spanning three continents to the publishing house.

His fiction spans diverse global settings far beyond his native Sri Lanka, reflecting a truly cosmopolitan literary sensibility. His novel Bayan, set in pre-conflict Ukraine, garnered the Golden Aster Prize for Global Literature in 2020, and his works have since been translated into numerous languages.

Drawing upon two decades of humanitarian work across Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, Rupasinghe crafts — and champions — thought-provoking narratives that explore the depths of human psychology, cultural identity, and universal experience. This immersive engagement with the world informs not only his own writing but his approach to discovering and developing voices that speak across borders.

As Founder and Chairman of The Asian Group of Literature and an accomplished cultural curator, he brings to Rasa Books a deep understanding of global literary ecosystems, cross-cultural publishing, and the networks that connect writers to readers worldwide. Pramudith lives between Colombo and Brussels.
